I can easily imagine that reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl books might be a slog—but I wouldn’t be your friend if I didn’t let you know that the audiobooks are a completely different experience. And Princess Donut, the cat, is a bad-ass fluffy superhero with a big heart and a love for tiaras. The books are crazy-long though, so if brief and to the point is more your thing, might not appeal based on length alone. Gary and I love the irreverent humor. Matt Dinniman is one of the few writers that can make me laugh out loud regardless of my surroundings. My brain does a different thing with both books and shows, where they often do nothing for me, so I set them aside—then try again at a later time and love them MADLY. Brains are so weird!

I wish I could do audiobooks, but they have the effect of sending me to sleep within a few minutes of my listening. The spoken voice, when unaccompanied by visuals, is an utter soporific! I tried to listen to a short story the other night, and I had to restart it 3 times. (I still don't know how it ends...)
